Otaku episodes are really hard to do! I am very sorry I am not able to update the episodes as much as I want.
MANGA: Oresama Teacher
DRAMA: Fugoh Keiji
ANIME: Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko
SONG/VIDEO: Kana Nishino – Go for it! (Full album)
If there’s a manga I would not mind being made into anime, it is probably this one. Oresama Teacher is a really nice school life story. It talks about how one person can change for the better and how we deal with our darkness.
While this is just comedy gold, the manga has dealt with some pretty serious issues – a person’s image, a person’s past, real friendship, standing up for what is right, taking care of a family legacy, etc.
The story is focused on Kurosaki Mafuyu, a delinquent leader who gets expelled from her school. She transfers to a school far away from her hometown and decides to be a girly-girl on the first day of school to get rid of her old image, but fails. She meets Saeki Takaomi, a school teacher who was her childhood friend, and is probably the reason why she became a delinquent.
Takaomi forms a disciplinary club in hope of doubling the school population, a bet he made with the chairman to get the school property (which is actually his grandfather’s) back. Mafuyu is dragged into the club, as well as her new friend and classmate, Hayasaka.
The student council, headed by the grandson of the school chairman, plots to do everything in their power to stop the club. The story revolves around how the student council members take turns in getting the club to disband.
I love the drawing and the story of the manga! I highly recommend this to everyone!
Among all my Jdrama collection, I have probably seen Fugoh Keiji the most. It has two seasons, but I like Season 1 the most.
The drama is one of the reasons why I am such a big Fukada Kyoko fan. She is just too cute!
The drama is about Kanbe Miwako, a billionaire police officer who uses her grandfather’s riches to solve crimes.
If you guys know me, I like crime stories the most! (See Episode 5 and 6 for Kurosagi – a great crime series too!)
I highly recommend this drama to anyone who wants to see a crime story solved so cutely! MOE~
This is a recently completed anime – about last month I think [?]. I enjoyed the anime so much I finished it in a day.
The story is about Yokodera Yoto, a high school boy who is unable to speak out his perverted thoughts. He heard of a rumor that a Stony Cat statue in a the hill of the town will take something you do not need and grant a wish. The night he went to make a wish, he meets Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, a girl whose wish is for her emotions to not show easily. They get their wishes, but after a day, they are not happy about it and want to take it back. The rule for the wish is what they don’t need the statue would give to someone else so they must now find the person who got the qualities they lost.
I highly recommend this anime to shoujo fans. It is funny as hell. The ending was surprising too.
I had this single sitting in my laptop for months! How could I ignore Kana Nishino! My favorite is track two, Talk to Me, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Here’s a live version of the main track, Go for It!
This was released in Summer 2012, but it is still a pretty cool summer song. I have been listening to the three tracks in the single for two days now and I have not gone tired of it yet. I highly recommend this to everyone!
That’s it for this episode. Hope you guys like it!
P.S. I planned the episodes so I have until Episode 16 written and ready for publishing. I will be publishing once a week. Until then, ciao!~
This week is full of LOVE! Sarang~
Sorry I was gone a long time. I had a one month vacation in Singapore! It was fun, but because it was so much fun, I neglected blogging for a while.
This week’s first video has been stuck in my head for the past two weeks – After School’s First Love.
I was so impressed by this comeback song. Their last song Flashback was sexy as hell, but it lacked the usual substance that made After School stand out from the many girl groups out there.
Their pole dancing looked like they really made an effort. I was quite disappointed that Lizzy wasn’t able to participate in the routine though (leg injury) and Raina also did not pole dance due to a hand injury.
I also love the melody of the song! The funny thing though is that this reminded me a bit of Sistar19’s Gone Not Around Any Longer. Strange, I know.
What I super loved is that Jooyeon had so much screen time here!
The second song I discovered today! :3
I did not think much of Roy Kim during his Bom Bom Bom release. It was great, but when I started to like it a lot, it was already about 2 months after the release, so I really anticipated a new song from him.
Love Love Love has a great melody and it has country music written all over it. Such a lovely song to relax to. I played it over and over while putting makeup on this morning!
I dunno what it is it with naming songs but first Bom Bom Bom (Spring Spring Spring) and now Love Love Love.. Should I expect this to be a habit? Anyways, Roy Kim personally wrote this song! He’s so talented! Did I add that he is just so cute too?
That’s it for this week! I actually have a third favorite song, but this segment limits songs to two, so I will just post the video here.
OMG! Verbal Jint totally rocks! And he’s so handsome! :3
Last week, I blogged about how I am loving Ai Otsuka’s song here. The source of this love is because I watched the movie Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru.
Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru (Just loving You/Heavenly Forest) is a 2006 movie. Originally it was a manga (very short; highly recommend it!), but it was turned into a movie.
I love the casting of this movie. Tamaki Hiroshi (Nodame Cantabile) played Makoto, an introvert. Shiruzu was played by Miyazaki Aoi (Nana). They played the parts so well, especially Aoi-chan!
The movie tells the story of how Makoto and Shizuru became friends. Shizuru was extremely childish but interesting. She was short and only ate doughnut biscuits. She’s like an elementary school kid. She kind of forced Makoto to become her friend. They discover a beautiful forest. Makoto, who loved photography, decided to practice taking pictures. Shizuru becomes interested in photography too and asks Makoto to teach her.
Makoto realizes he likes Miyuki (Kuroki Meisa). Realizing this, Shizuru helps Makoto get closer to her, even though she loves Makoto too. One day, Shizuru decides to enter a photography contest and asks for Makoto’s help. The shot she wanted to create was a kiss in the Heavenly Forest. Makoto agrees to do it. After they got the shot, Shizuru disappears.
After two years, Makoto was contacted by Shizuru who was now working as a photographer in New York City. Makoto comes, but finds out that Shizuru has already died. She died of a genetic disease that develops as her body matures. Shizuru, wanting to be a lady Makoto acknowledges, did her best to be a beautiful lady. The scene ended with Makoto witnessing Shizuru’s exhibition, where he finds a lot of his stolen photos, the kissing scene photo and a big picture of Shizuru all grown-up and beautiful.
WARNING: This story is a tear-jerker!
I love the actor’s acting, especially since I have seen both actors in movie roles completely different from this one. Tamaki-kun was so cute as a clueless guy here and Aoi-san is just so cute, I want to bring her home and pet her!
The movie pretty much adhered to the manga, with a few added scenes. It’s pretty much the kind of romantic movie the Japanese creates – emotional and powerful.
Have you guys seen this movie? You are seriously missing out if you haven’t!
For some reason, the songs I am loving this week have really long names.
Before I get to them, let me review the releases I listened to this week apart from the ones I love. Queen Bee Lee Hyori released a one-track album last week with Miss Korea. I love Hyori to death, but this song disappointed me like hell. I was so anticipating it because I love her teasers. I’m hoping the rest of the songs (to be released on May 2..1 i think?). I still love her retro look in the video though.
I also listened to UV’s album. I have no knowledge of all UV songs, but I love some of their songs (which I don’t remember the names – my Korean is so bad). I liked it. The song Because of You is sooo… dreamy. (hoo,hoo.. haa, haa)
I also anticipated Nine Muse’s Wild, but it did not really live up to my expectation. I like the rap parts though. I was also anticipating the LC9 (Nega Network) debut, but the video’s too violent, I cannot focus on the music. When I listened to the music, it was good, but not great.
I also grew to like 4Minute’s What’s Your Name? this week. For some reason, it is stuck in my head.
2PM – Come Back When You Hear This Song (이 노래를 듣고 돌아와)
Many people criticized this song. I dunno if it’s because 2PM has not really appeared in the KPOP song for a long time, or simply because it is different from the music they usually produce. When I listen to 2PM songs, they are catchy, but they never have a light beat, as light as it is in this song. Plus, I think the video’s really creative. Great use of symbolism!
I haven’t seen the new song they released last weekend, but I am hoping that I would like this one!
Davichi – You are My Everything
This song is part of the Mystic Ballad Part 2. Although it is not a new release (released like a few months ago), I am singing this everyday. I even went as far as searching for the lyrics.
I listened to this a few weeks back. One night, I suddenly was singing the song in my head. I forgot about the song and the singer, but when I listened to the album again, I found it!
These are my top picks for the week! Hope you guys enjoyed!
I am looking forward to some Orange Caramel this week. I’ll also listen to the other 2PM song.
I have been flooding this blog with music posts lately, neh? Sorry about that. As I said in earlier posts, I have been freelancing and I need music to soothe my mind.
I feel like I dug gold with the latest album. I know Boyfriend is a KPOP group from Starship Entertainment (same company as k.Will and Sistar), but nothing else. I don’t listen to their KPOP albums.
I randomly downloaded this song just because it is in Japanese. I had a great time with Orange Caramel’s Japanese album so I thought another Japanese album from a Kpop group would not be so bad. I was right.
The melody is so great. This is so Japanese. Feels so much like spring actually!
Listen to it here! Check out the MV below.
I am listening to a whole lot of music now. I might have some Jrock for you guys tomorrow!
