2 Kpop Songs I’m Loving This Week: First Love and Love3x

This week is full of LOVE! Sarang~

Sorry I was gone a long time. I had a one month vacation in Singapore! It was fun, but because it was so much fun, I neglected blogging for a while.

This week’s first video has been stuck in my head for the past two weeks – After School’s First Love.

I was so impressed by this comeback song. Their last song Flashback was sexy as hell, but it lacked the usual substance that made After School stand out from the many girl groups out there.

Their pole dancing looked like they really made an effort. I was quite disappointed that Lizzy wasn’t able to participate in the routine though (leg injury) and Raina also did not pole dance due to a hand injury.

I also love the melody of the song! The funny thing though is that this reminded me a bit of Sistar19’s Gone Not Around Any Longer. Strange, I know.

What I super loved is that Jooyeon had so much screen time here!

The second song I discovered today! :3

I did not think much of Roy Kim during his Bom Bom Bom release. It was great, but when I started to like it a lot, it was already about 2 months after the release, so I really anticipated a new song from him.

Love Love Love has a great melody and it has country music written all over it. Such a lovely song to relax to. I played it over and over while putting makeup on this morning!

I dunno what it is it with naming songs but first Bom Bom Bom (Spring Spring Spring) and now Love Love Love.. Should I expect this to be a habit? Anyways, Roy Kim personally wrote this song! He’s so talented! Did I add that he is just so cute too?

♥♥♥♥♥♥

That’s it for this week! I actually have a third favorite song, but this segment limits songs to two, so I will just post the video here.

OMG! Verbal Jint totally rocks! And he’s so handsome! :3

2 KPOP Songs I’m Loving This Week: Come Back.. & You are..

For some reason, the songs I am loving this week have really long names.

Before I get to them, let me review the releases I listened to this week apart from the ones I love. Queen Bee Lee Hyori released a one-track album last week with Miss Korea. I love Hyori to death, but this song disappointed me like hell. I was so anticipating it because I love her teasers. I’m hoping the rest of the songs (to be released on May 2..1 i think?). I still love her retro look in the video though.

I also listened to UV’s album. I have no knowledge of all UV songs, but I love some of their songs (which I don’t remember the names – my Korean is so bad). I liked it. The song Because of You is sooo… dreamy. (hoo,hoo.. haa, haa)

I also anticipated Nine Muse’s Wild, but it did not really live up to my expectation. I like the rap parts though. I was also anticipating the LC9 (Nega Network) debut, but the video’s too violent, I cannot focus on the music. When I listened to the music, it was good, but not great.

I also grew to like 4Minute’s What’s Your Name? this week. For some reason, it is stuck in my head.

2PM – Come Back When You Hear This Song (이 노래를 듣고 돌아와)

Many people criticized this song. I dunno if it’s because 2PM has not really appeared in the KPOP song for a long time, or simply because it is different from the music they usually produce. When I listen to 2PM songs, they are catchy, but they never have a light beat, as light as it is in this song. Plus, I think the video’s really creative. Great use of symbolism!

I haven’t seen the new song they released last weekend, but I am hoping that I would like this one!

Davichi – You are My Everything

This song is part of the Mystic Ballad Part 2. Although it is not a new release (released like a few months ago), I am singing this everyday. I even went as far as searching for the lyrics.

I listened to this a few weeks back. One night, I suddenly was singing the song in my head. I forgot about the song and the singer, but when I listened to the album again, I found it!

These are my top picks for the week! Hope you guys enjoyed!

I am looking forward to some Orange Caramel this week. I’ll also listen to the other 2PM song.

Currently Listening: Ai Otsuka’s Renai Shashin

So, this is a really, really, really old song, like 2005 old.

This is a live version because I cannot find a PV for this (or I’m just too lazy), but this version is better than the song itself. Ai Otsuka really is a great singer! She is one of my favorite JPOP singers. My favorite song of Ai is Sakuranbo and Planetarium (Hana Yori Dango OST).

I knew the song way back in 2008, but I did not know she sang this for the movie Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru. I recently watched the movie (review coming up), and I was bawling at the end. Real tear-jerker, man.

Going back to work! Shigoto! ╭(๑¯д¯๑)╮

2 KPOP Songs I’m Loving This Week: Mine and I’m Sorry

I did not really listen to KPOP this week except today when  I found two amazing songs that doesn’t scream KPOP at all.

I’m not really a fan of all the bubblepop-themed aegyo girls all the time. I prefer listening to anime ad Jrock music because not only do they have decent and well-thought off lyrics (according to translation), but they also have nice sounds. Last week, I loved SNSD’s I Got a Boy. Not anymore. I’ve moved on and the song is kind of getting on my nerves when I hear it now.

Anyways, as I said this week I found two great treasures that do not sound anything like KPOP except that the songs are in Korean.

The first song is I’m Sorry by CN Blue.

The lyrics are great and I’m seeing a more rebellious side of CN Blue (OMG! Did Jongshin just slam those roses in her face? Kyaaaa~) What I totally love about this video is the song itself. It’s catchy in a band-ish type of way. CN Blue has said before that they’re not idols who sing and dance around, and I just love that! Their songs are always something to look forward too (FT Island too) since they get away from the mainstream KPOP productions.

The second song is Mine by Kim Jaejoong

I totally love everything about this song! The MV, the visuals, the heavy guitar, the hoarse voice – everything! When I first saw it, I was like OMG Visual Kei overload, my fangirl heart is beating too fast! I dunno, but Jaejoong seems to be highly influenced by Japanese music because this is so not KPOP. I listened well to the lyrics so I wouldn’t be mistaken that it’s in Korean. There’s a lot of heavy guitar and Hero’s voice reminds me of Visual Kei band Versailles. I will do a full review of this song this week. It has a lot of elements I wish to analyze!

That’s it for this week! What did you guys like this week?

P.S. I’m listening to Infinite H’s Special Girl now. I like it, but not enough to put it in this post.

2 KPOP Songs I’m Loving This Week

Hey everyone! Sorry I’ve been gone a week. Our teachers think we have no holidays and so I had to work extra hard during the first week of January to make sure I get to submit my two major papers on time.

nervous lucy

Anyway, I’ve been so stressed out this week and the only consolation is there are two songs I am loving this week.

The first one is probably one of the most popular KPOP song this week. That’s right! It’s SNSD’s I Got a Boy.

Although the song is like 5 songs mashed-up, I really like the beat. The dance is also one of the main reasons I am drawn to this song. There’s a lot of hip thrusting and hip swaying here and there. The fashion is also something I dig a lot.

I’ve seen these style before in f(x) and Hyuna, along with a lot of other KPOP artists, but SNSD managed to pull if off really well. I’m not really a SONE, but I generally like the members of SNSD. For this video, my favorite remains to be Yuri.

I do like Hyoyeon’s Rainbow dip-dye hair and Sunny’s Pink&Orange combo hair. It’s a dream for me to get pink hair.

The second song I am loving this week is Kim Sori’s Dual Life. I have never been to a club before, but I imagine wanting to dance to this. It’s such a really fun dance, and Kim Sori is just so pretty! I think the song is quite underrated!

I am currently into more dance-y songs these days. It just makes my life a lot more exciting I think.

See you guys in the next post!
