By Episode: Kamisama Hajimemashita (Episode 13| FINAL)

The last episode of KamiHaji is nice, but quite disappointing. Nanami realizes that she’s running away from a place that she considers home. When she gets there, she dances what she practiced in the previous episode, kagura, a dance to dispel miasma. She does so gracefully and successfully dispels evil and turns everything back to its normal, pristine state.

The festival also is a success since there are a lot of people who came to celebrate. In the very end, Tomoe kisses Nanami saying that he wants to the contract from his heart.

Although I find the ending heartwarming, it’s quite disappointing that KamiHaji has come to an end. After research, I found that KamiHaji is an ongoing manga. Here’s to hoping for a second season sometime this year!

My Tomoe’s mad face. (^///^)

Kdrama in Focus: Rooftop Prince

I realize I am a bit late with this drama review for Rooftop Prince, the show having been shown since the first quarter of 2012. However, you guys should note that this is the only year that I started watching Kdramas as I originally only watch Jdramas. I started this year with Arang and the Magistrate and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho because I really liked Shin Minah. For choosing Rooftop Prince, I have quite the similar reason. I really like Park Yoochun.

vlcsnap-2013-01-05-19h28m01s219How the hell do you say no to this? Yoochun is like the cutest when he smiles! But he’s really cute when he’s mad or irritated too.

vlcsnap-2013-01-05-19h38m51s78It starts off with the prince (Yoochun) Lee Gak finding out that the Crown Princess had been murdered. Because this is so, he hires three men who had been brushed off by society to help him – Man Bo, a very intelligent man to investigate; Yong Seul, a very strong man to protect him; and Chi San, a good information broker. For some reason, from the Joseon period, they get to the year 2012.

In the present era, they meet Park Ha, a vendor who dreams of opening her own fruit store. Since they lived in the Joseon era, they find the future strange.

The Prince is supposed to look for the Crown Princess’ reincarnation in the present era, but in the twist of fate, he falls in love with Park Ha. He still has to solve the mystery of the crown Princess’ murder, but as he is in the present, he has to solve the mystery of why he was sent in the present era, specifically the attempt to murder his reincarnated self, Yong Tae Yong.

vlcsnap-2013-01-05-19h38m29s108This drama made me want to eat Omurice more often. It’s pretty simple to create and it has been known to be the favorite food of the Prince and his servants in the present era. I think Rooftop Prince has made Omurice a pretty popular dish in the real world. :3

DO I RECOMMEND THIS DRAMA? Absolutely. There are a lot of twists in this drama, it was mind-boggling! There were a lot of predictable points in the drama, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. Finally, I’m not saying this just because I like Yoochun, but I really think his acting is superb. He can cry at any impulse! The other actors are really great too. I think this is one of the main reasons why the drama is hyped!

The one thing I didn’t like too much is the ending. It was quite confusing?

Anyways, I will definitely try to have more dramas to watch this 2013. Any recommendations?

By Episode: Kamisama Hajimemashita (Episode 11)

Episode 11 is divided into two again. The first part is focused on Miyuki’s attempt to do a bit of “research” on the present human life in order to relate better to Nanami. He had mishaps, but in the end he realizes it’s not about what he knows, but about his liking to serve Nanami.

The second part tells of how Nanami and Tomoe went on an unofficial date. They rode the roller coaster where Nanami saw Tomoe’s genuinely happy face for the first time. Earlier, Nanami saw a beautiful pin which she suspected was Yukiji’s. Due to her jealousy, she created a ruckus between her and Tomoe. In the end though, they made up and rode the ferris wheel.

I feel like I finally understand the part where Mikage healed Tomoe’s wounds. It seems like he erased Tomoe’s memories of Yukiji since Tomoe appeared to not recognize who Yukiji is. Nanami, as an ever slow person, must’ve thought that Tomoe simply didn’t like living in the past.

Ah! The first part of the episode is simply wonderful. Mizuki is my favorite character in KamiHaji and I saw more of his cute side in this episode. I also saw more Mizuki-Kurama interaction and my fujoshi fantasies are in wonderland with that eating part!

kyaaa! why do you guys do this to me?! My heart skipped a beat!

By Episode: Kamisama Hajimemashita (Episode 10)

The episode is divided into two parts. Part one tells of how Tomoe became Mikage’s familiar. When Yukiji died, Mikage saw a death shadow on Tomoe’s face one day when he was walking. He invited him to his home to be a familiar and trained him for many years. He hated humans then because they were weak.

Part two tells of how Nanami went to a goukon (group date; I dunno why it’s called a mixer here when literal translation means group date).  Tomoe, Mizuki and even Kurama follows her.

I like the second part of the episode over the first one. The first episode was kind of predictable as Mikage is a very nice deity so I expected him to take pity to Tomoe’s loss. I liked the second part because it showed that Tomoe might actually have feelings for Nanami too! Kyaaa! Also, the three guys (Tomoe, Kurama and Mizuki) went on a group gathering to spy on Nanami. Somehow, my fujoshi fantasies are becoming fulfilled. I like boy interaction!

kyaaaa! more boy interaction! Tomoe why are holding Mizuki’s hand?! >_____<

By Episode: Kamisama Hajimemashita (Episode 9)

Mizuki and Nanami travel to the past to take the Dragon King’s Eye that Tomoe took. However, Nanami finds out that Tomoe stole it in order to feed it to the sick Yukiji. At this point, I think Yukiji is Tomoe’s girlfriend.

They return to the present and Nanami looks for Isohime, a witch she met in the past who said she has a dragon king’s eye. Isohime bargains for thirty years of Nanami’s life, but she tries to cheat her. Mizuki, unable to watch, kisses Nanami and pledges to be her familiar.

They go to the dragon king after tormenting Isohime (actually it’s just Mizuki who tormented her) who took nothing from Nanami. They ride and meet the Dragon King’s wife (they didn’t know she was the wife) and Nanami becomes inspired of her unconditional love for husband. They save Tomoe then. And oh, Nanami confesses her love again.

OMG! Mizuki is an M! This is the best anime ever! An S and M character in one anime! I am so enamored by Nanami’s kindness although I think she’s an idiot. There are lots of LOLs in this episode and there are also a lot of serious moments. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next episode, but so far, this is my favorite episode! Nanami and two familiars (S and M).
